Vespa Rally of the Pharaohs is, after the Paris-Dakar

Vespa Rally
The Rally of the Pharaohs is, after the Paris-Dakar, the most important extreme race in the world.
In 2011, Marcello di Brogni , a historical Calabrian entrepreneur who moved to Genoa, came up with the idea of participating in the Rally with a Vespa PX.

Marcello is one of the most capable trade show fitters in Europe's styles of engines. He creates the "SPILLO" brand where he creates very detailed special motorcycles but also transforms unique cars of their kind ... and since he is passionate about watches, he creates a series of distinctly motoristic styles !

But let's come to the Rally ... together with Andrea Revel Nutini, he plans to participate in the 2011 Rally dei Pharaoni, preparing two examples of Vespa PX150 ... he transforms them to withstand the perils of the desert, chassis, suspension, engine, systems, brakes, tires ... the PX so it becomes a Vespa that can face the surprises that only Pyramids and the desert can give!

Marcello di Brogni piloted this Vespa PX 150 alongside Andrea Revel Nutini on a similarly equipped Vespa through the entirety of the Rally of the Pharaohs taking place in Egypt in 2011. Starting near the pyramids of Giza, the two Vespa team would complete the 3,000 km race thanks to some choice upgrades to their machines and a little help along the way.

The Vespa story begins in the aftermath of WW II in Italy. The economy was left crippled and the roads were in a disastrous state which made it difficult for the automobile and other manufacturers to reemerge.
